Short version: this site sets no cookies of its own, has no accounts, no newsletter and no comment box, and asks you for nothing. What follows is the long version, because under the GDPR you are entitled to it.

What is collected

Server logs. The web server records each request: the page, the time, the HTTP status, the browser's user-agent string and a truncated IP address. This is what any web server does and it is what makes it possible to notice an outage or an attack. Logs are kept for 14 days and then deleted.

Audience measurement. None is currently running. If it is switched on it will be a cookieless service that stores no identifier for you, and this page will say so before it goes live.

Local storage. One value, aivio-theme, remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. It stays in your browser, is never sent anywhere, and clearing your site data removes it.

Advertising

This site carries no advertising today. If that changes, ads will be labelled, and any advertising that sets cookies or profiles you will be preceded by a consent request — not switched on quietly.

What is never collected

Third parties

Fonts are served from this site's own domain, not from a font CDN, so no third party learns you visited. Images that accompany a story may be served from this domain after being copied at publishing time. Links to sources go to other people's websites, which have their own policies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, or complain to a supervisory authority. Given the above there is unlikely to be anything to hand over beyond a log line, but the request is yours to make: news@aivionews.com.
